The Cihuapahtli (Women's medicine) Apprenticeship Program is an inter-generational apprenticeship model program for cultural and knowledge transfer and sharing created to enhance and develop the skills and capacity of young women of color, to become Promotoras Tradicionales (practitioners and promoters of traditional medicine and healthy families). Through an approach that links reproductive justice and environmental justice, program includes skills building, leadership development, and training and knowledge sharing for self-healing and empowerment, as well as strategies to elevate women's voices to bring about systemic change that will promote and protect the health of women, their children and family, and the health of the community.
